4th Coy Contacts
Geoff serves as the unit commander and, following correct period practice, holds dual ranks as a Captain in the Household Troops and a Lieutenant Colonel in the regular Establishment. He is a recently retired officer of the 21st century U.S. Navy. He received a thorough preparation in re-enacting in a British shire regiment before purchasing a commission in the Coldstream Regiment of Foot Guards.
Jay is a previous commander of the 4th Company and remains assigned to the company. He has been reenacting since the Civil War Centennial in 1965 and began Revolutionary War reenacting in 1968. He is one of the charter members of the unit and serves as an officer in the Southern Crown Forces. Both he and his wife are extremely active in Brigade of the American Revolution (BAR) activities.
The unit's Sergeant, Rich's reenacting experience spans "several centuries" and includes participation in reenactments of the English Civil War and early Bronze Age activities! He is an expert on the 18th century manual of arms and a driving force in the unit's recruitment efforts. Rich is complimented by his Goodwife Jane, who is rapidly acquiring expert status on women's clothing of the period. In addition to his duties as Sergeant, Rich serves as the coy's recruiting coordinator for the Washington, DC area.
T.J. serves as one of the unit's two Corporals. His reenacting experience has been exclusively with 4th Coy, joining the unit in 1998 while a college freshman. Widely acknowledged as an expert in light infantry drill and the manual of arms, he ensures that a high standard of tactical expertice and drill is maintained by Company members.
Mike serves as one of the unit's two Corporals. He took the King's shilling in 2003 and joined the Company while we were encamped at Williamsburg during that year's campaign in the southern colonies. In keeping with his 18th centuy responsibilities, Mike schedules and conducts the unit's drill sessions.
"Flash" (ask him about his nickname) serves as the unit's southern recruiting coordinator. A relatively recent Guardsman himself, Ed is a great source of information for the public. Potential recruits in the North Carolina area who are interested in learning more about joining the Guards should get in touch with Ed.
