On a cool, clear Saturday morning in January, the northern Virginia platoon of the 4th Coy met at Sully Plantation near Dulles Airport for a company drill. For most of us, this was the first time that we had gotten into the field in several months, so there was plenty of rust to work out. The first order of business was to work on the basic manual of arms, followed by some formation marching. Finally, the opportunity to burn some powder was too much to turn down, so 4th Coy practiced firing in company volleys. The morning drill was also an opportunity for the new NCO candidates to lead the drill and practice giving commands to the company.

After a couple of hours, the men of 4th Coy policed up the empty cartridges that littered the grounds of Sully Plantation and retired to SGP's residence for some weapon maintenance and fellowship.
